housing material: polycarbonate
lenght: 253 mm
max. diameter: 23 mm
connetors:
blood inlet: 3/8 inch
blood outlet: 3/8 inch
cardiotomy connection: Luer Lock male
primingvolume: 50 ml (7ml effectively, due to the DBT replacing a piece of arterial tube)
The graph above illustrates the pressure drop of the DBT in dependence of the flow.
The instructions for use recommend applying the DBT up to a flow of 6 liters per minute to avoid automatic machine stops due to unexpected high pressure drops. The DBT can be also used above a flow limit of 6 liters per minute if a higher pressure drop is acceptable. Due to higher centrifugal forces the efficiency of the DBT will increase with higher flows.
The recirculation flow of the DBT is approximately between 250 – 290 ml per minute within a range of 2-6 litres. The curve shape is degressive, meaning that with a flow of 7 litres, the estimated recirculation flow is scarcely over 300 ml / min. Significant alteration of haemodilution can cause slight aberrations from these figures.
